The ecoFree Network Pledge

In order to provide a nationally-responsible recycling program, we agree to support and comply with GreenSight Technologies' Commitment to support their Trade-In Program / Recycling Programs and their ISO 14001 Requirements. This Commitment pertains to all hazardous electronic scrap (as defined below) generated by GreenSight Technologies ecoFree program operations, including, but not limited to, corporate e-scrap/equipment, trade-in and returns programs. This Commitment is only applicable to electronic scrap, and specifically the hazardous e-scrap defined in this application. This pledge excludes electronic scrap collected through municipalities as required for compliance with laws where GreenSight Technologies Inc. does not have full authority in selection of service vendors to manage electronic scrap.

We affirm that our operations, public and internal policies, and programs (including our requirements of vendors such as recycling and asset reclamation partners) to take back, recycle, refurbish, reuse and/or dispose of used and off-specification electronic parts and equipment, and all non-working or untested parts or devices that contain or comprise hazardous electronic scrap will be managed in all jurisdictions in the U.S., and throughout the entire chain of custody throughout final disposition in compliance with the following standards:
  • Export: Any and all exports of hazardous electronic scrap will comply with international scrap trade agreements designed to prevent developed countries from dumping hazardous electronic scrap on developing countries regardless of whether or not these agreements are in legal force in any particular country concerned;
  • Disposal: Every reasonable effort will be made to control all hazardous electronic scrap and manage its disposal as hazardous scrap and therefore prevent them from entering solid waste landfills or incinerators, including waste-to-energy incinerators. In addition, any and all data containing devices (such as usb drives, hard drives, tape, flash cards or any other type of media) from any consumer electronic device must be wiped clean and be free of any personal or non-personal data prior to the item being reused, resold or recycled. Any data containing media device that cannot be erased must be destroyed and recycled accordingly.
